Deye Invited to formulate New Group Standard for Household Dehumidifiers and Promote Healthy Development of Industry
On November 26, the JD Dehumidifier Industry Summit and the release conference of the 2.0 version of the Household Dehumidifier Group Standard was held in Beijing. Representatives participating in the standard formulation were from China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute, JD Home Appliances, All View Cloud, Ningbo Deye Electrical Technology Co., Ltd. (Deye), Eurgeen, Panasonic, Philips, etc.
Attending the Conference were Zhao Linbin, Director of the Group Standard Department of China Association for Standardization, Tan Qianqian, General Manager of Home Appliances Business Department of JD Home Appliances Division, Wu Xiaoli, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Home Appliances Research Institute, Pei Dongmin, Deputy General Manager of Home Appliances Division of All View Cloud, and heads of key dehumidifier brands.
At the Conference, JD Home Appliances and China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute formally launched a new group standard for household dehumidifiers. The new standard, based on a series of previous quality indicators, focused on weak points of the industry and formulated formal definitions of two core indicators of dehumidification area and silence level of the dehumidifier. The two definition serve as a new benchmark measurements for dehumidifier products. This further establishes the norms of the industry and will help meet consumer needs for lifestyles of high quality.
Based on big data related to consumption statistics from the third-party platform of All View Cloud, the market inventories of dehumidifiers have been growing at a rapid rate in the last five years, in spite the fact that the market is still on the stage of cultivation.
However, most consumers do not know how to select humidifiers. Especially when they have no concept of dehumidification capacity, it is difficult to judge what dehumidification capacity is desirable. Some businesses take advantage of this gap in consumer knowledge and exaggerate functions of their own products, making it more difficult for consumers to make right choices. In order to address those problems and improve consumer experience, Deye was invited by JD Home Appliances and China Home Appliances Research Institute to participate in the formulation of the group standard for Household Dehumidifier released in 2019. This group standard stipulates standard terms and definitions to be used for products, product classification and naming methods, technical requirements and other standards, which provide a reliable reference for consumers to make their choices.
After a year of development in the industry, Deye, as a leading brand in the dehumidifier industry, was invited again in 2020 to update the group standard, in order to clearly differentiate dehumidifiers of different quality. Deye helped to formulate and release the New Group Standard for Household Dehumidifiers under the guidance and supervision of China Standardization Association.
It is reported that the new group standard has been assessed widely in laboratories by China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute and further standardizes the standby power consumption, noise classification, dehumidification time and recommended dehumidification area. The release of the new version also means a raise of the technical threshold.
As laboratory tests show, the standby power of dehumidifiers that meets the new group standard without built-in sensors, WiFi, and Bluetooth functions may not exceed 2W and that of products with the mentioned functions may not exceed 5W. In terms of noise classification, the new group standard has set limit for products of high quality, which sets a higher threshold for the industry and dehumidifier companies.
In addition, the new group standard also defines the recommended dehumidification areas for different dehumidification amounts, providing a reliable criterion as to the relationship between the dehumidification amount and the dehumidification area, an issue cared about by consumers. The new standard has been highly recognized by industry insiders and dehumidifier companies. As the mainstream domestic dehumidifier brand, Deye took the lead in completing the testing of the new group standard for all its products.
Growing consumer needs not only lead to the formulation of the new group standard, but also stimulate innovative development and direction of the dehumidifier industry. At the conference, Deye also presented and shared its in-depth explorations and observations as to the "consumption upgrade", an issue to be faced by the dehumidifier industry in 2021.
According to Deye, new technology, new logistic services and new infrastructure are promoting a new round of consumption upgrade in the dehumidifier industry, which is the core driving force of the consumption upgrade.
Consumption upgrade does not mean rises in the price, but an upgrade of the industry upgrade in response to the rising consumer needs in terms of product styles and quality.
Silence, energy efficiency, interaction, and environmental protection will become important evaluation indicators for consumption upgrades. Deye's observations were highly recognized by participating experts from peer companies and widely reported by major media.
On the same day, Deye was also invited by China Household Electrical Appliances Association to attend the first session of the seventh member conference of China Household Electrical Appliances Association. Deye actively responded to initiatives proposed at the conference and undertook to participate in product innovation and reform and boost the technological progress of the industry.
